At this moment, our school is answering the hard challenge of large enrollment growth (including mostly under-resourced families) in a school of limited space. The plan is to move 5th grade to the middle school, where the space is ample. The exciting part for me, as the band teacher, is the potential for many students to participate in band! In our current setup, there is no space for the band to have a permanent home classroom. So, we meet in a data room. I currently drive 5 miles to the elementary school to teach band. Our school district seeks to creatively provide awesome learning opportunities to our many low income families. With space to work, and these two requested Plastic Bb Trumpets, we can provide our students the opportunity to make music and alleviate the financial stress of parents. The generosity of donors will make available the joy of instrumental music to students who couldn’t otherwise afford it. There is a potential of forty or more 5th grade students joining band. Because our your generosity, and the problem solving skills of our administrators, we will have space and durable plastic instruments. This project is the start of a great growing music program.
