Our classroom is full of a variety of learners who need different needs and styles to be successful in their own learning goals. My students love when given the opportunity to work around our classroom. Although some still love the old tried and true table and chair, others need a more flexible option to aid their learning. Especially in kindergarten where young learners need the ability to move and get their wiggles out, flexible seating is essential in helping their learning. Unfortunately, our current flexible seating choices are pretty slim. Students are able to sit at their tables, use a clipboard on the carpet or sit at surrounding back tables in pairs. To create a learning environment that is inclusive to all learners, I am seeking different flexible seating options. Tables and chairs will still be available but I would love to implement stability balls, wobble chairs, mats and fidget bands on chairs.
