Inner Strength provides an opportunity for the students to identify and understand concepts related to their mental health, which directly impacts their social emotional learning in the school setting. This program teaches concepts of self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth. The overall goal of this program is to help provide strategies/techniques to improve/increase how students feel about themselves, increase positive behaviors in the home/school/community, increase problem solving skills in stressful situations, and increase their ability/willingness to articulate how and why they feel a particular way. The art materials will provide the students a fun way to express themselves. The book will provide an opportunity for the students to see that others experience emotional/mental challenges similar to how they do at this stage in their lives. And the workbooks will provide hands on exercises for the students to work on individually or collectively as a group.
