Every amazing English classroom needs a great class library full of books that can take the students to a different world, create new experiences, and promote good healthy reading habits. There are so many occasions when my students ask why I do not have a library in class. I am a first-year teacher with limited financial resources. I have a big list of what I would love to do with my classroom, but the most important thing to me is for my students to have a reading corner. This would boost their interest in reading if they had a comfortable, homey place to sit down and great books to read. Most of the students that attend my classes are reading way below grade level. To have a reading corner full of books that they are interested in will not only help boost their reading level but will improve their quality of life. They will learn new words, see life from a different perspective, and maybe even be influenced to make a change in their own lives. In order to fulfill this goal I will need a few class sets and collections of novels, I chose a few movies for some of the class sets because some of my students are more visual learners, a bookshelf to store the books on, an area rug to make the corner more cozy, and one large bean bag so that way my students have a relaxing place to sit and read.
