I need a laptop to create the materials I use to teach and scaffold learning for my class. I individualize PECS for each student since my students are visual learners. PECs are visual aids used as an alternative method of communication. They are helpful for students with autism to help them convey their thoughts and needs. These are especially helpful for my non-verbal students. These images also help students understand what to expect in terms of routines and work. I use a school computer to create these images, and it would be helpful to have a laptop so that I can make these on my own time. I would also use the laptop to individualize social stories for students among many other things.
