Many students need to constantly be "active" to be successful. Giving students multiple seating options will help them to do their best work while learning. I like to give students the power of "choice" encouraging them to choose a spot (seat) to work where they can be the most successful. Sit, kneel, lay down, stand, wobble; just learn! My philosophy is I don't care "how" you learn; I just want you to learn. Providing options to my students will give them voice and choice to be successful in our classroom environment. I do not believe in "assigned" seats for students. It all comes down to choice; make a choice where you can be the most successful. Giving students many different seating options will help them to choose where they can "sit" to be the most successful. Students will be able to choose from a variety of "seats" to work successfully: wobble stool, tall stool, floor, chair, band chair, crate. My philosophy is the more options available to learners the more it will create the most possible learning in our classroom.
