Math comes easy for some students and is difficult for others. I try to make my classroom active and engaging in using technology and movement when possible. Sometimes students do remain in their seats while working. When they do so, I find that they can easily be distracted and that flexible seating allows students to move and be motivated to continue to stay focused and learn. Research has shown that allowing students a flexible seating learning environment helps to stimulate productivity and growth in the classroom. Although I have pillows and some other forms of flexible seating already, my students have expressed interest in yoga ball balance chairs. They have the ability to move in them while seated but yet, remain in their assigned table area. They allow them to fidget within their seat but stay focused at the same time! Please help me by funding my project. I hope to get 6 exercise balance chairs for my classroom. This will allow me to have one per table group. Thanks in advance for your help!
