By helping purchase a new incubator for our classroom, you will help my students experience the joy of watching chicks hatch. As part of learning about life cycles, we explore what happens inside the egg during the 21-day hatching cycle. I take videos each time I candle the eggs and look inside with a special light so the kids get to see what's going on inside the eggs as the chicks grow. They get to experience the hatching process and afterwards, the chicks have a special place in our room for a couple of weeks as they grow. We invite other classrooms to visit and my students get to share all they have learned. This project is all about learning science, but also helps build empathy in children.
