Students will use the headphones to talk into their Chromebooks when responding to interactive lessons in a program called Seesaw. The microphones attached to the headphones will help students build confidence in their speaking through oral language practice. Often times, young students have not had ample opportunities to “use their voice” and respond productively to text. The stylus will be used in conjunction with the Letters Alive program to increase students’ fine motor and cognitive response of letters, sounds, and sight words. Second language learners make up nearly 65% of our site which is a Title 1 school. This population of young learners will greatly benefit from additional oral language and fine motor opportunities we can provide them. Using these tools will increase student engagement, as well as oral language skills, which are preparing them for leadership roles and setting a solid foundation in their educational journey.
