College Signing Day is the day our graduating juniors and seniors will reveal the college/military of their choice. The first component of the event is a program that includes parents and community leaders as guests to witness the students' college reveal. The program will include music/dj. As students approach the platform, the song "I Bet You Won't" is played as an energetic announcer announces the students' choice. The requested materials will be used for decorations and accents of the event celebration. Just as prominent award ceremonies use the envelope system to reveal the winner of a category, the large white envelopes will be used as the tool to reveal the students' college/military choice. The students will use their creativity to decorate their envelope and select the item(s) of their choice to place in the envelope as a part of their Big College Reveal. The gymnasium will be decorated with balloons and other festive items, and it is our desire to climax the event with a balloon drop/release. Following the program, the students will complete a Pledge Form in which they pledge their commitment to attend the college of their choice. The forms will be displayed on the hallways of the school until graduation day. The related lessons of the event and activities include decision-making, creative expression, perseverance and commitment.
