The current age of the reference and non-fiction titles in the Library is 22 years old! The recommended age for most of these types of books is 5-10 years. This means my students are accessing information that is outdated, culturally insensitive and inaccurate! The 21st century minds of my students need 21st century resources to challenge them and help them achieve great things! We will use these materials as springboards for research projects in every grade level. The students will also be able to read more about the topics that interest and excite them. They love the big, bold graphics of reference and non-fiction titles and these books pair well with fiction titles that are in our Library.
