Clay center gives our students an opportunity to work with a different medium. Clay is wonderful for our kids because we have a high number of students with social and emotional needs. Clay is therapeutic and calming, helping kids to become more regulated so that they are ready to learn outside of the art room. An example of a lesson in clay - Learning targets- learn to think and behave like an artist in order to observe, Y'all about, design, and create functional. Written artist statement will be used as data as well as a rubric for final pieces art from clay.
