Every year I like to select a fun and enjoyable book to read together with my class. A book that takes them to an imaginary place. NYS testing will be over and the students can truly enjoy this reading. This book comes with illustrations to help offer support to students who still are struggling reading comprehension. Many of my students are also still learning English so I have asked for an audio CD which would allow students to listen to the story if they were unable to read some of the words. Help my students strengthen their reading skills and let their imaginations soar when they read and listen to The BFG! By donating it will allow my students, many of which don't have books at home, the opportunity to read and listen to a fun novel. This novel will allow them to explore their imagination while continuing to learn the reading skills they need. Some of these skills include: comparing and contrasting, sequencing, making predictions, and summarizing, to name a few.
