Evidence shows that effective learning happens once a classroom community/family is developed. That is my ultimate goal with my classroom. I want to be able to create a classroom environment that supports diverse learners, diverse backgrounds, and diverse ideas. With social-emotional prompts at each morning meeting and activities to help my students really think about decisions and consequences, I aim to give each of my students the tools necessary to be mindful of others, their environment, and themselves. By including flexible seating in my project, I want to give my students options, in how that want to participate in the meetings. The storage bins will be used to organize a library, including books on social-emotional health, diversity, inclusions, and high- interest informational texts.
