By offering my students the opportunity to play board games, they will be able to practice necessary social skills. They will be able to take turns, compromise and follow directions. Not only will these games help with social skills they will also be a great review for academic skills. Board games are a great way to incorporate play-based learning in the classroom! These board games will get students working together and will help them grow as learners. Students will learn to use their problem solving skills when a conflict arises during play. They will be able to retain the new information because research shows play makes new information stick in the long term memory section of the brain. Games are a great way for students to be engaged in learning and have fun while at school!
