My goal with my MakerSpace class is to help students create memorable, creative objects that show their understanding of technology, safety, and science. Students will make small metal objects, such a jewelry and containers, which they can later pair with a 3D printed object. The enameling kiln, metal sheets, and art materials will help students learn about the chemistry of metals, the history of metalwork, and the variety of objects they can make with metal. This will be an introductory lesson which will hopefully lead to instruction in casting metals. . Metalwork will be a valuable addition to my curriculum.
