Learning stations consist of multiple stations for children to rotate through. Stations may contain activities from different subjects, such as math, science, reading, and manipulatives. Preschoolers have short attention spans, so our stations allow them to engage with an activity and then move on with in 10- 15 minutes. Unlike the other students in our school, my preschool students do not receive the opportunity to be exposed to "special classes" (art, P.E., music, Spanish, technology). I try my hardest to provide my students with new and exciting lessons and activities to help their development and exploration through different medias. However, one area we have lacked in is the use of technology. In a technology advanced and ever-changing world, incorporating technology into the preschool classroom proves to be a powerful tool for helping all children develop foundational skills in a number of important subjects ( mathematic, science, early literacy skills and fine motor). Adding a technology station to our classroom allows for my preschooler students to explore a different way to learn and also show off their skills in a different way, especially students with developmental delays. The use of the iPads will focus on enriching content that teaches vital skills and concepts, rather than mindless entertainment. Help provide my young learners a different opportunity to learn!!
