With these two (2) crime scene kits, my students will be able to explore the career of a crime scene investigator, police detective, or federal agent. Having a full kit for 30 students will allow me to pair up students and provide an extension activity for four (4) of my five (5) classes. I envision this activity to bridge what students hear and believe an investigation entails to what it truly is - a tedious, ever questioning, and outcome-based career that serves to find answers and determine a conclusion. Students will be exploring the various aspects of crime scene investigation through the physical examination provided in a real-world scenario. They will not only learn how to process, package and evaluate evidence, but will have learned teamwork through a hands-on experience and problem-solving skills that will be used throughout their lifetime.
