With fulfillment of this project, students will have engaging materials to read and discuss. These materials will support the district's reading workshop curriculum. It is important that students care about the characters and the problems that they are reading about. They will become more enthusiastic readers, leading to the development of strong literacy skills. Literacy skills are essential to participation in the greater community. They are essential to become college and/or career ready. We want to create a life-long habit of reading, as this will support students in achieving their personal goals. Since so many of our students come from financially struggling families, we need to be the ones to provide materials so that they can become enthusiastic and effective readers.

About my class
