With the Kindle Fire tablets, I will be able to download free apps that students can use to learn valuable skills that they will be able to take with them when they join their general education peers. There are apps that provide independent practice of writing letters and words correctly. Others that read stories aloud students. Research has shown that the simple practice of reading or being read to everyday, is the single greatest thing a student can do to help them succeed educationally. Students will be able to use some amazing apps that do not require language to use, but enables them to learn. This may be the most important reason that I feel my students will benefit from the use of tablets in my classroom.
