In my comprehensible input classroom, students acquire language through stories and learn new vocabulary in context while listening to stories or facts or from reading them. A Free Voluntary Reading program will allow my students the choice of reading what they like while reinforcing the language learned in the classroom and expose them to new vocabulary. FVR programs have shown a great increase in proper language production by students. We don't have any reading materials in Spanish at my school at this moment. This project will help me lay the foundation of the program in my classroom by hopefully next semester. I'm excited to be able to offer this program to my students and to see them bloom in their language abilities.
