Students with behavioral and emotional disorders are often triggered without warning and have a difficult time letting adults know when they need support. These students often end up in crisis situations before staff can help intervene. I have been working with my students to help them understand their triggers and ways to ask for help before their frustrations get too big and their behaviors increase. The materials that I am requesting will be used to help students take breaks in order to help settle their bodies and calm reset their thinking. Art materials are a great tool for children with behavioral issues. My students love crafting and find it extremely therapeutic. I am asking for tablets in order to download apps that will encourage deep breathing, meditation, yoga and coloring.
