My students must overcome the stigma of being from an inner city school and the challenge of being ELL learners. Most students start out reading well below their grade level. By providing them with multiple books on their various reading levels they will be able to practice and grow confident in reading, which helps develop their foundation for the future. Being able to physically see mathematical concepts will allow student to explore math on their own and think about numbers and equations in multiple ways. I want my students to have the ability to critically and confidently think outside the box.
