Sensory experiences in the classroom are vital for early childhood development. Stimulating our five senses enhances brain development as well as foster a child's ability to regulate their behavior. Items on my list will be used in all our classrooms, from toddlers to preschool. They will have the opportunity to use all their senses to investigate, explore, observe and problem solve. They will use these materials while engaging in conversations with teachers and peers, with looks of wonder and excitement. Brain research shows that exploring our world through our senses is vital to the development of our bodies as well as brain and is a building block to overall academic success. "Play is the highest form of research" ~Albert Einstein
