Giving students choices when reading empowers them to take real ownership of their learning. My students need flexible seating options like the swivel chair, wobble cushions, and cushioned chair to get more comfortable when reading and to get away from the traditional desk/chair for awhile. With these new additions to our classroom, students won't be able to wait to flex their reading muscles during reading time! We need challenging reading materials that focus on informational text and inspires students to become life-long learners. I have limited nonfiction options in my classroom library, so the book sets will be a welcome addition. Many of my students have trouble staying on task when they must remain seated and quiet for long periods of time to read. Fidget bands and noise cancelling headphones will benefit those that struggle to sit still or those that can't concentrate on the task at hand.
