The sensory room is a place our students can go to regulate their bodies and calm their minds. Our students who become overstimulated with the hustle and bustle of the classroom or the volume of the cafeteria now have place to go where there are tools to use for regulation. Bouncing on a ball, spinning in a swing, creating with sand, jumping and hopping, all provides the types of sensory feedback our students need for regulation. The sensory provides immediate access to these tools. Children are empowered through these interventions and provided the opportunity to have control over their own bodies.

About my class
