I currently have 50 students enrolled in the College in High School program through the University of Pittsburgh. They have been working hard this school year to learn the Psychology curriculum and pass the necessary exams. If students meet all of the requirements by the end of the school year, they will receive three college credits from Pitt that they can then transfer to the college of their choice. I want my students to have the opportunity to tour Pitt's campus and sit in on an Intro to Psych course with other college students. My faculty liaison at Pitt has arranged a full day of activities for my students that are free of charge. The only problem we are encountering is how to pay for the charter bus from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh. Students must bring their own money for food and souvenirs, so I really don't want to charge them to ride the bus. Our school district is not able to cover the cost of the charter bus, so we are looking for other options to fund the trip. I applied for an education grant to help fund this project, but was only awarded $100. Students are putting together a bake sale to raise money as well. They are very excited for this experience and I am determined to make it happen for them this year :)
