Most of my students have a difficult time sitting still and quiet all school-day long and even though they get to have recess daily, it just sometimes is not enough movement for them. The decals will be placed on the carpet mat which will allow the sensory path to be portable so it can be used in my classroom, another classroom, or the hallway, depending on the needs of the student using it and the needs of any other students in my classroom. The sensory path will provide a way for my students to be able to get their movement needs met and be ready to focus on their learning needs. I have seen how movement, whether it be "brain breaks" in the general education classroom or running a few laps in an unoccupied hallway has helped my students be able to focus. This investment will help me be able to provide for their needs in a more planned, concise way.
