Osmos were named Toy of the Year in 2015, but it is not really a toy. It is an educational system that crosses all subjects and brings learning to a whole new level. I am not sure that students realize that they re learning and working as they perform exciting tasks with these kits. Children learn more and retain the information when it is presented in the form of engaging activities with technology integrated. I have witnessed a young child actively using the Osmos Kit with a giant smile and a twinkle in his eyes. I have tinkered with one of this amazing inventions before, and it kept me engaged. I want to use this in rotations, in group work, small group instruction, and for extra reinforcement for the skills that some students did not master. The many wonderful ways these magical devices can be used to assist my students in learning and succeeding is what made me choose Osmos Kits for my class project.
