The use of everyday materials toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, body wipes, hair brushes, deodorant and other basic supplies will assist my students with learning to care for themselves with some level of independence. These materials will help my students to care for themselves, build up their personal skills, have some fun and build confidence. My students will one day become adults, although they have many limitations and obstacles they can learn! They must feel good about themselves. Our multiple disabilities class teaches students in many areas. The domains that my students work are domestic maintenance, interpersonal communication, vocational, functional academics and personal maintenance. Working in these areas daily builds skills that last and will help them throughout their life time even if some level of assistance will be needed. Allow them to work towards lifetime goals and make them proud of themselves.
