The materials in these STEM bins give students a sense of autonomy and ownership, helping them continue to develop their problem solving, creative thinking, and engineering/design skills! Students will have the opportunity to use cards with building prompts, or create their own structures using dominos, blocks, popsicle sticks, straws, pipe cleaners, and other everyday household materials! The practices these STEM bins foster are directly aligned with the rigorous Next Generation Science Standards, while also addressing many students' needs to learn, create, problem solve, and design in a tactile way. These bins create endless opportunities for each student to create, design, and experiment with various structures and materials. It will also be a way for me to incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math into regular choice time for students. Please consider joining us on the journey to become more proficient critical thinkers, creators, and experimenters- all while having tons of fun!
