Students take part in sensory activities daily. Currently, my classroom does not have a sensory table for students to touch and feel. This project to gain a sensory table and washable materials will be a great addition for the students to engage in mind stimulating activities that incorporate all five senses. Sensory play encourages the development of motor skills, problem solving, language development, and interactions between peers. This play offers opportunities for students to meet their sensory needs that if not met could prevent them from focusing on other tasks or demands given to them to complete. My students will gain many positive experiences from this sensory table and sensory items.
