I would like to purchase a class set of the book The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind for my English Language Learner (ESL) students. The novel is the inspiring true story of William Kamkwamba, a boy from a small village in Malawi, Africa who through his intelligence, creativity, determination, grit, and ingenuity brought wind power and water to his famine-struck farming community. I believe it's the perfect text to teach our refugee and immigrant students, many of whom have come from sub-Saharan Africa and may be able to relate to William's story. This is a suggested text for World Literature, but we do not have a class set here at school and do not currently have funds to purchase one. I do not want to wait another year to teach this book. Please help me purchase both standard and young reader editions of this novel, so we can inspire our young people with William's amazing story! Thank you!
