The Swivl is a unique resource for my classroom. It will allow me to video my lessons for students and parents. The Swivl will follow me around as I teach in order to capture the full essence of the classroom lessons and activities. An iPad must be connected to the top of the Swivl to record the lessons. The extra markers that connect to the Swivl are placed on students' tables for informal assessment purposes. I plan to use the Swivl to enhance student learning and give extra opportunities for those students who have been absent or need additional support. Often times, when students are absent they get behind in their work. The Swivl will help prevent this. They would be able to watch the lessons from home or during our enrichment block and complete any assignments provided by me. It will ensure that they are getting the full lesson and not just a short recap in order to catch them up. The Swivl will be used for student support and for enrichment. I will be meeting with small groups during our enrichment block, and when students are not with me, they will have a lesson that is specific to their academic needs. The lessons will also allow self-paced, higher-order thinking for students who need enrichment. They will be challenged to push their thinking.
