“The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” Mark Van Doren. This summer during our summer school we want to help our students who attend to discover how the use of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) can make learning more exciting. So many of students live in low income families where opportunities are few. We want our students have the experience to discover how S.T.E.A.M. will open opportunities grow and learn. We are a very small rural school in Southeast Missouri about 90 minutes south of St. Louis. Our population is very small, as we currently have 120 students in Kindergarten thru 8th grade. We have one class per grade level. The students here work hard to learn and do their best.
