This iPad will allow my students the opportunity to dive more deeply into the world of literature, exploring their learning through interactive applications, as well as through the reliability and convenience of an iPad. Currently, our technology station consists of dated computers that may or may not work on a daily basis. Students are required to remain in one area of the room while using the limited number of web applications devoted to reading practice. Thanks to Apple's smooth platform, students will be able to really extend their learning without technological disturbances using the iPad, all while being able to be anywhere in the room. Through apps like StoryPatch, students will create their own picture books. Reading for Details gives students a passage and then helps them analyze it through comprehension questions. ABC phonics will allow struggling readers to strengthen their word knowledge. Second language learners will be able to create book trailers to deepen their understanding through iMovie. All of these things can be accomplished mostly independently with limited support. These are just a very small selection of all of the amazing things this iPad will do for us. Between its versatility and dependability, it will make the perfect addition to our classroom.
