My students love our class pet, a Betta fish named Charlie. However, his home is too small and we think it's time for an upgrade! Students learn responsibility through feeding Charlie, cleaning his tank, and checking on him. One of my students recently asked who "gets" to clean the tank! Her neighbor proudly told her it was his job this month. By giving Charlie a safe place to live, students see my room as a safe place for them, too. A spacious, attractive aquarium with natural-looking gravel and ornaments would help my classroom to be a safe and relaxing space where students can focus on learning. A gravel vacuum will help me keep the tank clean, and students will be able to use it more easily when it is there turn for the job. Charlie is special to us -- help us make sure he's happy and healthy for years to come!
