Teaching three grade levels (3-5) in one classroom is incredibly challenging. My students enter the program with a variety of academic, behavioral and emotional needs. The majority of them are significantly below grade level and in need of individualized instruction and remediation. Wide gaps in achievement amongst peers causes significant frustration, leaving students discouraged and unmotivated to learn. While my students enjoy using technology and have been successful doing so, we rarely have access to adequate resources. Having laptops in the classroom will maximize and enhance learning for my students by allowing them to work at their own level and pace. Laptops provide limitless opportunity for engaging, relevant learning experiences across all academic levels & subjects. These online resources also provide me with feedback on student progress and continued needs, which helps to guide future instruction.
