As a kindergarten classroom, we spend a lot of time on the floor! We have circle time, calendar time, class discussions, lessons, quiet reading time, and station time on the carpet. This new classroom carpet will allow each of my students to have their own special spot on the carpet. Having their own designated space will let each student feel as though they have a special place to sit that only belongs to them. It will give the students an opportunity to practice responsibility by making sure to keep their own space clean and safe. This will also decrease arguments, allow for better listening, and help keep hands and feet where they need to be.
