The use of the whiteboard is almost a daily occurrence in my classroom, especially in Geography and American History. The whiteboard allows me to share visuals of maps, timelines, artifacts, newspaper articles, educational videos, and examples of the work my students are required to complete; however, my students often struggle to get from Point A to Point B without step-by-step instructions and demonstrations. By donating to our project, you will help provide my classroom with a much need document camera to help improve and increase student attention and focus during map reading and making lessons. A document camera will allow me to demonstrate key map making skills; such as, how to create a legend, title, compass rose, labeling, scaling, etc. Students will be able to receive step-by-step demonstrations as a whole class and complete lessons quicker and with more ease once a document camera is introduced.
