This project is requesting a color printer for our classroom. Some of the ways we will use the color printer include: creating labels with photos and words for our play areas, printing photos for discussion prompts to be used during group instruction and small groups, as well as printing out photos and text to create our very own books. Our handmade class photo books help our kids to explore literacy while being creative and having fun! Being able to present these new items or places to them in color will make a huge difference in helping them recognize, learn about, and retain the information they need to be successful. In education, the link between color printouts and comprehension- as well as engagement- has been shown to be strong. A report from Xerox highlights that “nearly seven out of 10 students can better comprehend information when delivered in a color format.”
