These materials will allow my students the opportunity to prepare simple meals and snacks with proper equipment. Up until now, my students have only had the opportunity to use second-hand equipment or paper products. We have had to scavenge for materials and "make do" with whatever we could find. Being able to purchase new materials would enable my students to appropriately and more adequately prepare food. Dishes will allow the students to not only prepare the food but give them experience in washing the dishes as well. In addition to food preparation, some of my students have sensory needs. Weighted blankets and sensory "socks" would be helpful to those students when they feel overwhelmed with sensory stimulus.
