Young children love to explore, create, and ask questions. STEM building materials like VIAHART Brain Flakes, TINKERTOYS, K'NEX building sets, and Brickyard Building Blocks can help foster creativity, imagination, build interests in math, engineering, art and science, and provide them with a passion for sharing new ideas. I will be able to use these building materials by dividing my students into small groups and rotating each group so they are able to create various ideas using each type of STEM building materials. Each building set is a little unique and my students will be able to use these wonderful materials to design, invent, and experiment while also having fun playing. These materials will not only provide my students a chance to work independently and show their own creations, but it can also provide them with the skills to collaborate by working in teams and communicating with one another. STEM building sets are hands-on, can build creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication while providing ample time to explore ideas while reducing classroom stress and anxiety! I would love to provide my students with materials to use where they can play, build, create, share, gain self-efficacy, learn to complete challenges, and collaborate in groups. First graders love using hands-on manipulative and STEM building allows children to ask questions, discover more than one solution, and create a passion for trying to ideas. My students have already shown a great interest in other STEM activities and I know that with these wonderful STEM building sets, I will be able to foster a lifelong love of learning, creating, curiosity, passion, and exploring!
