We already have two-second generation iPads and 4 Chromebooks which we share with another special education teacher's classes. The problem is the iPads are the fastest to log in and easiest for most of the students to use. When they use the iPads they can have more time to do their assignment. Having enough iPads for a whole reading or math group would give us more time to work and make us spend less time logging in and getting started. Time on task is precious and these iPads will provide that to my special needs students. Students love working with the iPads because they can go straight to work and finish more assignments in less time. We use technology to provide support for struggling readers and math students. These iPads will help them access the curriculum and meet their goals.
