Having a light table along with the various manipulatives will allow my students to explore multiple subjects through a more engaging outlet than traditional pencil and paper. With a light table, students will be able to take part in many math activities covering multiples strands such as sorting, patterning, shapes, cardinality, addition, subtraction, etc. The light table will also be beneficial in language arts, as students can practice building and reading new sight words in a stimulating environment. With a light table in our room, my students would also get the opportunity to engage in more STEAM related activities that would allow them to build and create with a wide range of child friendly materials. With a light table in our room, the possibilities are endless! Children are naturally drawn to the glow of the light table and tend to stay there for extended periods of time. This is great for stretching those budding attention spans. A light table is an extremely versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and more! It would be a true asset to our classroom ! Thank you all for your support!
