A new easel would allow my students to actively participate in both whole group and small group instruction. My kindergarten students learn best when multiple learning modalities are engaged. With the easel I can invite the kinesthetic learner to participate in a shared writing activity. On the felt side of the easel I would retell a familiar story book such as The Three Little Pigs, using felt character pieces to help my visual learner discern the difference between each pig's home. The storage underneath would allow for quick and easy access to the materials I use day to day such as white board markers, crayons, books, and pointers! My students have nicknamed the classroom their Home and love making art work to decorate the walls! With the drying rack my students will be able to use new mediums of art including paint and glitter because it could easily be stored away while drying. Museum Day, scheduled once a month, is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the creativity of art! Our class would be able to produce more pieces of art with the drying rack.
