I have heard what flexible seating has done for the classroom environments and students' engagement and attention in other classrooms in our building and I would like to give it a try for my first graders! I want to provide the best education for my students and if I can help create a classroom environment that will best meet the needs of all learner styles I am given each year from the over achiever, ADHD child, to the timid, shy and reserved student that is afraid to answer a question, I want to give it my all! Redesigning our classroom environment with flexible seating such as wobble stools, wobble cushions and bouncy bands will help me to better meet the needs of my diverse learners. Research shows that ADHD students learn best when they have seating options like wobble stools that allow them to be able to wiggle while learning. I am confident this seating will benefit all of the learners in our classroom. My students love to be given a choice and to be able to move and wiggle. I give my students' experiences, that will benefit all types of learners and learning styles. Research shows that flexible seating with all learners, but especially with ADHD students, improves listening skills. Thank you for helping our classroom begin our makeover towards flexible seating and to better behaviors, attention, and listening skills!
