My SPED team would like to start a garden and teach our students not only the health benefits of eating healthy, but give them the opportunity to come together as a team. Gardening bring families and communities together, offers a good workout, and provides you with seasonal vegetables and fruits and were hoping we can this for our students. In addition to bringing our Trojan family together our garden will be used to teach our students life skills and responsibility. Gardening tasks can be delegated according to age and ability, giving even the littlest members a sense of ownership and competence. Also, the care of plants and the observation of animals in the gardens help children develop a sense of responsibility for things that are smaller and dependent on them.
