These books provide an opportunity for my students to explore the world through a book and their imagination. In our rural area, most students do not ever leave the county or state. Most students do not have books to read at home. Reading these books will allow them to gain true knowledge of events and gain experiences through the text. Having 25 students in third grade who love to read is a blessing. Being a first year teacher with limited resources is a challenge. These books will supply my class with books that will teach and inspire them. These selections will provide the opportunity for independent reading, read aloud books, and partner reading.
