In my classroom we use the program Daily 5. One of the jobs for Daily 5 is called Listen to Reading. When students choose this jobs they have a chance to listen to picture books on cd. Listening to books on cd helps my students become better readers. They can hear what good reading sounds like and follow along with the words as it is playing. Listening to books is one of my students favorite jobs to do during Daily 5. It is engaging and it gets the kids excited about being able to read those books on their own someday.
